Those of you who know me know how much i love animals...so this week we were teaching Brother Duncan and his dog Quesadilla jumped up and licked me right in the mouth. After gagging just a little i was able to continue teaching.
So this week was awesome!!! I feel like i say that a lot but its always true! Brother Duncan made toilet paper Sister Johnson. He's seriously the sweetest old man. He got really sick this past week and at the close of our lesson we asked him to say the prayer. He prayed for all the things he was grateful for and then said "If you find the time, please help me get better." I thought that was so neat! Because i think so many of us pray and ask for things now, but it's so important to be patient and remember that Heavenly Father knows when we need answers better than we do.
This week while teaching Jennifer she stopped and said, "You girls make me so happy". We thanked her and then informed her that it was the gospel bringing her this new found happiness. She's a sweetheart. I seriously love all our investigators so much! It's crazy how a person on the street can become someone so dear to your heart in a matter of seconds!
We committed 3 people for baptism this week!! The first was an older guy that we've been teaching for a while. He's a stubborn fella and said he wouldn't get baptized unless it was in a river. So we asked the mission president if that was even allowed and after finding out that it was, we rushed to his home to tell him the good news and then committed him to baptism on the scene. He attended church the following Sunday and informed us that he's noticed his faith increasing. Is't that so great?! The second was a lady named Kimberly. We met her last week and gave her a Book of Mormon. She's been reading AND understanding what she reads. Which is super impressive. After teaching her about the plan of salvation and that she can be with her cute boys forever, we popped the question. She knows that this will be something good for her and so do we:) The most previous one was yesterday. Last week my companion asked him to be baptized and he said no. But yesterday as we were teaching him I felt prompted so strongly to ask him again. It was so clear that this is what i needed to do and i knew if i ignored the prompting i would always regret it. So I stopped and looked at him and said " I know you've already been baptized, but will you be baptized again by someone holding the priesthood authority of God?" And he said yes!!!!!! I was so excited that i jumped up and gave him the biggest handshake ever and then told him how excited i was for him because the gospel is so amazing and has blessed my life so much! And now he gets to be a part of it too! I totally started crying and had to explain that they were happy tears. But anyways, there's this special joy and happiness that comes to me when people choose to accept the gospel. I love being able to watch how it changes their lives completely. And its such a testimony builder for me knowing that this is all so right. And so true. THIS GOSPEL IS SO AMAZING!! But you already know that:) I hope you all have a wonderful week! Pray for missionary opportunities and i promise they'll come:)
