But anywaysssss this week was so good!!!! We pray everyday that the sprit will guide us to the people who Heavenly Father has prepared for us. And he always does! Its so crazy to look back on our day and see how we were lead to certain places at certain times and how everything plays together. The other day we weren't having much luck while tracting but on our last door we were talking to this lady and a guy across the hall was coming in and out of his apartment carrying stuff. When we were finished talking to the lady we asked him if he needed any help. He said no and started walking off and then turned around and asked us if we were Jehovahs witnesses. After we told him no he said "Oh good! I heard you talking to the lady back there about the bible and stuff but i had to make sure. So what religion are you?" We told him who we were and what we do and he was super excited because he said him and his wife were looking for a new church to try and didn't know where to go so they'd have to come check us out. We happily gave him the church address and times and everything and headed on our way! It was so awesome! Because he came to us! Heavenly Father really does lead us to the people who we're supposed to talk to. It truly is amazing! I was told by a returned missionary in our ward here that we're supposed to be in certain places at certain times and if a plan falls through then we need to find the person that we're supposed to see/ meet there. So i made it a challenge from that point on to remember that. We had a scheduled appointment with a lady who we went to see but she told us we were sick so we headed towards our car when i heard a sound across the street. I knew that that was our person we needed to talk to. So we headed over and introduced ourselves to an older man who had just bought the house. We talked to him for a while and even invited him to come to church! Later on in the week we met with him again and he told us he'd been thinking a lot about how we came and talked to him right as he moved into town and how it most likely wasn't a coincidence. I know it wasn't!:) Things like this happen everyday and its so cool!
So Brother Duncan is still the coolest old man ever! He comes to church every week and even hands out pass along cards to his neighbors! This week he informed us that you can make anything out of toilet paper. And sure enough he brought out his action figures all made from toilet paper, glue, and paint. Its pretty dang impressive if you ask me. Ill attach a picture of one of his indians he made because its awesome. He told me that he was gonna make a miniature me this week and I'm super anxious to see how that turns out!
We taught the word of wisdom to one of our investigators this week and it was so cool because the next time we showed up at his place he tossed us his last box of coffee! Yay!
Sorry i know long emails are the worst but one more story. So I'm pretty sure i told you all about the girl who jumped off the bridge my first week here? Well they found her body a few days ago and its been really hard for the family. Also this week the previous Bishop's 10 year old son passed away from hemorrhaging in the brain. Basically its been a really rough week here in Redford. So Saturday night at the Trunk or Treat me and Sister Johnson were talking to the Bishop and he told us how he feels like he needs to share a talk or something at church the next day about how to deal with these hard times. But he had no idea where to find something like that and didn't have the time to look. I immediately responded with telling him how my mom had sent me a talk a few weeks ago that fit perfectly with that description . Almost in tears he told me that he knows i was inspired to tell him that. Sure enough, at church yesterday he shared the talk to all the ward and said "The Spirit works in many different ways but i know Sister Taylor's mom was inspired to send her this talk so that we could share it with you today." And i know she was too:) So that we could share it with you today." And i know she was too:) So basically if you see my mom, give her a hug and tell her good job because she blessed the whole Radford ward by following a small promoting. I challenge you all to listen to the promptings of the spirit. Even if its small. Because you never know who's life you're gonna bless by doing so:) I hope you all have a spooktacular week! Happy Halloween!!!
